Charis means "grace" in Greek, so our primary desire is to lavishly spread the grace of God that we have experienced. At our core, Charis believes in rescuing orphans and abandoned children, strengthening the local church, and impacting communities with the gospel of Jesus Christ. We partner with local churches who are on the front lines of orphan care.
Isaiah 1:17 perfectly captures the drive and heart that God has given to The Charis Foundation: "Learn to do good; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow." We want our boys and girls to enjoy a safe environment to laugh, play, and receive love. We walk alongside partners to develop holistic care, seeking to meet physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs of children.
It is our desire to empower our partners so they may learn to provide for themselves. Working with the World Orphans model, we help our partners create a business that will take care of their current kids, and provide stability for generations to come. It is our desire to teach and help empower our partners to care for themselves.
There are an estimated 153,000,000 orphans worldwide who are vulnerable and in need of help. By stepping in to prevent, delay, and rescue orphaned children, World Orphans helps to break the cycle of poverty. World Orphans connected us with our 2 African partners.
Trinity Church is our home, where many members of our teams have learned to become passionate about orphan rescue. Trinity's desire is for everyone to know the love of their heavenly Father. Trinity hosts events that help raise money for our orphan kids.
Charis has been blessed in many ways, but we could not continue our pursuit of rescuing orphans for a better future without the financial support we receive from generous and passionate donors. Haven Home Health has proved to be incredibly generous to our mission by helping to support ongoing operational costs, as well as raising money to buy mattresses for the boys in Kenya, clothes, and medicine for our partners in Haiti, and always looking to spread the word about our adventures in Africa.
